| At 0004 hours Sunday morning, the Mattydale Fire Department was dispatched with mutual aid to 305 East Molloy Rd on a report of a residential fire with multiple callers reporting a home fully involved. C2 (A/C Dwyer) and Hinsdale C2 (A/C Jones) arrived within minutes to find a 2 story wood frame duplex with heavy fire from the front. Mattydale C2 declared a working fire to the dispatchers and assumed command. Reports from police and neighbors that all occupants were out of the home. TK3 (F/F Hapka) arrived with a crew of 6, secured a static water source, and deployed a 2 1/2” hose line to knock down the heavy fire from the front of the home. SD4 (F/F McEnaney), Liverpool Cars 1, 3, & 4 and E2, Hinsdale E8, Lyncourt Cars 1 & 2 and TK2, and North Syracuse E4 arrived with in minutes of each other. The additional companies secured additional water sources, deployed additional hand lines, and began searches of the homes. Moyers Corners E32 assumed duties of the rapid intervention team for the safety of the crews operating on the Fireground. C3 (A/C Klink) arrived and assumed command while C2 was focused on Fireground operations. C1 (Chief Falise) arrived and assisted at the command post. 4 additional companies were requested to scene due to the extended operations and a need to pull all firefighters from the homes due to unsafe fire conditions. It took approximately 2 hours to bring this fire difficult fire under control. The scene was turned over to fire investigators to determine the cause and origin of this fire which is still under investigation at the time of this post. All units were returned to service at 0417 hours.
