| Lemoyne Ave signal 99
Yesterday afternoon at 3:09pm Mattydale, Liverpool Hinsdale, and Lyncourt Fire Department were alerted to a reported appliance fire in Mattydale’s first due response area. 911 caller originally reporting smoke from a dryer with no fire seen. While still having members at the fire house for our community day and chicken bbq. Mattydale Car-2 Truck-3, Engine-2, and Rescue-5 responded quickly Truck-3 arrived first due to find a mobile home with smoke showing. Upon deploying a handline from Truck-3 fire began to come out of a window ultimately upgrading the alarm to a signal 99 bringing in more fire companies. All companies on scene worked diligently together to extinguish the fire, search for victims and ventilate the building. The fire was reported under control 20 minutes after initial disptach. Everyone was able to make it out safely prior to fire department arrival, no injuries were reported. Mattydale stayed on scene for hours after assisting the fire investigators and overhauling. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. American Red Cross are working with the residents from the home. Due to the fire being within our first due, our Mattydale Juniors were able to go to the fire scene and see how a fire scene can go and assist anyway they are allowed when the fire is out and the area is safe.
