| Mattydale members had the opportunity to train with the ARFF company at the airport (174th Attack Wing). Mattydale attended both a day and night session, where members were taught and shown how an emergency was handled within the Syracuse Hancock International Airport grounds.
After a table top session, members went to an out of commission runway an aircraft simulator was located. As live fire scenario started members were able sit in the ARFF crash vehicles seeing first hand how situations are handled including being able to operate a water turret to extinguish the fire. Once completed members transitioned to utilizing handlines for interior aircraft operations with search and rescue. Crews worked very well together and enjoyed the training, looking forward to being able to do it again.
We would like to thank the Air National Guard for extending their training to our department members. |
